Crime Prevention Seminar Sept. 16 at 7:00PM |
Citizens are invited to a Crime Prevention Seminar given by the Police at our City Hall on September 16th at 7:00 p.m. We are expecting not only the crime prevention officer, but also the commander of our local precinct. Come and meet him. This will be just prior to our September city council meeting, so it can’t go on more than an hour and we're hoping for good attendance. Surely there are sometimes when crime hits us in spite of all precautions, but there is much we can do to protect ourselves.

BLES Awarded 'Distinguished School' Status |
Congratulations to Berkeley Lake Elementary School which has achieved the status of “Distinguished School” in recent rankings. Our other local public schools, Duluth Middle and High Schools, were also awarded that distinction, and we are proud of them all. If anyone is interested in volunteering at BLES, please contact Mayor Salter or City Council Member Anne Carpenter. Supporting this school supports your property values, and you could do something as simple as reading to kids at your convenience.

Lakeshore Drive Water Main Replacement - Updated Aug 6, 2010 |
Gwinntt County Department of Water Resources feels the Dickerson Group has done a fantastic job of moving service lines from the 4-inch water main to the existing 6-inch water main along Lakeshore Drive. As of today, all of the service lines have been changed over. On August 11th and 12th, Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources (GCDWR), will be replacing the 2-inch main on Hilltop Lane with a 6-inch main. Once that is completed you will see crews shutting down the old 4-inch main in sections and removing the old hydrants from the 4-inch main. The second phase of this project will be the installations of the new hydrants along the 6-inch cast iron water main. We will update this website prior to the start of this phase. GCDWR appreciates the City’s and the residents’ patience during this process. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the GCDWR project manager, Angela Dotson, at 678-376-6752, or
