The Financial Affairs Committee plans the management of City financial resources. Their work includes preparation and amendment of the budget. Additionally, this committee is responsible for long-term financial planning and reporting.

The Chair of the Finance Committee is the City Treasurer, Tom Rozier.

The Council Liaison to the Committee is Walter Anderson.

2008 Tasks as charged by Mayor Salter:  Study the City budget and provide guidance, advice, and assistance to the Mayor in its preparation.  Make a recommendation regarding the millage rate.  The Council has requested a quarterly report to them from our City Treasurer to address and explain any significant variances in the financial results compared to the City Budget.  Consider anything that might save the City money or provide better value.  Review and make recommendations on bond repayment.  Contribute to other financial decisions.  Consider a public report forecasting our financial position in the next 5 and 10 years.
