Section 2.18: Oath of office |

The mayor and councilmembers-elect, before entering upon the discharge of their official duties, shall take and subscribe to the following oath before the retiring mayor or some person authorized to administer oaths in the following form, to wit: "I do solemnly (swear)(affirm) that I will faithfully perform the duties of (mayor)(councilmember) of the City of Berkeley Lake and that I will support and defend the charter thereof as well as the constitution and laws of the State of Georgia and of the United States of America." |
