  • The open and outdoor burning of garbage, debris, leaves, limbs, or other yard waste materials shall not be permitted within the municipal limits of the City of Berkeley Lake. This provision does not apply to land clearing activities under permit from the State Environmental Protection Division.
  • Recreational campfires using wood or coal are permitted, provided they do not create excessive smoke. In no case may recreational fires be fueled by trash or leaves. The Ordinance Enforcement Officer has the authority to enforce this ordinance and violation is punishable as provided for in Chapter 1-108 of the City Code.
  • NOTE: This ordinance is in effect at all times throughout the year. It is not a burn ban for the summer months only.
